Swamp People, is the life-or-death alligator hunting reality show in History Channel, which maintains itself as one of the reality show success stories and doesn’t depend on any drama stories. However, the network’s decision to let go of some of the fan-favourite cast members has been a dramatic one. The network overhauled the cast for the seventh season, and among the fired members is Gator Queen Liz. After getting the pink slip, she took to Facebook to share the news with her fans and show her anger towards the network.

She has been into alligator hunting from a young age, as she is Louisiana native. Although, hunting seems like a man’s job. But proving most people wrong, Liz has established herself as one of few lady gator hunters in Louisiana and has proudly earned the alias “gator queen.”

Gator Queen Liz’s alligator hunting

Liz was always in the Marsh South of Houma with her parents, Ella Dupre and C J Dupre when she was a child. She grew up watching her mom work hard and prepare food for the family spending most of her time making family members happy. Her mom, whom she considers “an angel,” taught her how to work hard and make others happy. Likewise, she learned the hunting techniques and the way to live off the land from her father. Accompanying her dad in his boat year round, she experienced the adventures of the swamp at a tender age.

Adventurous family members

Just like she stepped into the shoes of her father, her daughter, Jessica, also shares the same adventurous nature. She is grateful towards her husband, Justin, for supporting her throughout the years. Her two stepsons, Destin and Daimon, are also carrying on the family tradition.

The reason behind Gator Queen Liz GotFired

Although some of those ex-reality stars quietly returned back to their normal lives, this self-proclaimed “definitive Cajun swamp lady” didn’t let her former bosses off that easy. At first, she put the blame directly on her new bosses through a Facebook post on August 2, 2015. She wrote with non-confrontational tone.

Due to unknown reasons by the production company “Original Media” my family and myself, along with other original cast members, besides Jeromy and David, will no longer be participating in the Swamp People series, starting with season 7. It saddens me to know that our fans are the ones who will suffer from these unexplained actions by the new management of this production company reality.

The Facebook post apparently didn’t please the producers and they asked her to take the post down. But, gator queen is tough to the bones. Two days later, she retaliated. She shared to her fans that the producers asked her to remove the post due to the nasty phone calls and complaints they were receiving due to the revelation. She also said that she would die before she lost her integrity and sold her soul to the devil. But, the reason for her departure still remains a mystery.

Gator Queen Liz After getting Fired

Liz is back to her normal life and she is busy fishing, shrimping, crabbing, crawfishing, hunting and trapping on Pecan Island, Louisiana. Her Facebook page, where she has more than 237 thousand ‘likes’, is filled with her family posts, mostly the adorable pictures of her cute little granddaughter, Bella. She released her cookbook, The Gator Queen Liz Cook Book, last fall. Recently, she offered people to join her on the swamps for alligator hunts in September. So, hurry up if you don’t want to miss this adventure.
